Enyo Law LLP successful in Zhevago & Ors v Francombe Ventures Limited & Ors [2026] EWHC 1433 (Ch)

Enyo Law LLP acted for the successful Claimants in a High Court dispute over the ownership of three English corporate entities.

Following a four-day expedited trial, Richard Farnhill (sitting as a Deputy Judge of the Chancery Division) held that beneficial ownership of three English companies rested with the Claimants, rejecting the Defendants’ evidence and finding that a foundational aspect of their defence was fabricated.

The judgment raises interesting evidential issues, including the weight to be placed on statements of fact from non-attending witnesses, and the factors to be considered when assessing the honesty of live witness evidence.

The Enyo Law team was Matthew Marshall, Amy Spencer, Georgina Coote, Artur Harabet and Thomas Portsmouth, instructing Caley Wright of Maitland Chambers.
