Sports Disputes

We have established a reputation for advising on complex, high-value disputes across the sports industry. Our work spans disputes arising from sponsorship and media rights agreements, regulatory and governance disputes before sporting bodies, joint ventures and cross-border matters involving athletes, clubs, federations, and investors.

As a specialist disputes-only firm, we are well placed to act in contentious matters where independence, discretion, and strategic clarity are paramount.

The sports sector generates disputes of considerable complexity and commercial significance. Sponsorship agreements, media rights deals, and athlete contracts often involve substantial sums and intricate commercial arrangements. When these relationships break down, the resulting disputes require lawyers who understand both the legal and commercial dynamics of the industry.

Governance disputes before sporting bodies and arbitral tribunals demand familiarity with the distinctive procedural frameworks that govern sport, while matters involving club ownership, investment, and restructuring frequently engage company law, insolvency, and cross-border enforcement issues.

Our team has significant experience advising clients across football, Formula 1, golf, boxing and other sports. We act for athletes, clubs, sponsors, investors, and sports technology companies in disputes before the English courts, international arbitral institutions, and regulatory bodies. We are well-versed in managing disputes across multiple jurisdictions, working closely with leading practitioners globally to deliver a seamless service.

We are largely conflict-free, independent, and can act quickly. In matters where reputational and commercial considerations are as important as the legal outcome, we operate with the discretion our clients expect.
