Enyo Law signs the Greener Arbitration Pledge and the Greener Litigation Pledge

Enyo Law is pleased to announce its support and commitment to the Greener Arbitration Pledge and the Greener Litigation Pledge, with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of arbitration and litigation.

What is the Greener Arbitration Pledge?

The Campaign for Greener Arbitrations seeks to raise awareness of the significant carbon footprint of the arbitration community. The Campaign works with all relevant players to promote and implement best practices to manage arbitrations in a more environmentally sustainable way.

What is the Greener Litigation Pledge?

The Greener Litigation Pledge is the first initiative of the Greener Litigation Project which aims to reduce the carbon footprint of court disputes in England and Wales in line with the objective of restricting global warming to 1.5°C as set out in the 2015 Paris Agreement.

Signatories of the Greener Litigation Pledge have committed to take active steps to reduce (with a view to minimising) the environmental impact of dispute resolution, including the two principal sources of emissions in litigation: printed documents and (especially international) travel.

In the past year and a half the world has adapted to the many challenges faced, including how we conduct litigation and arbitration. This has raised important questions about the way disputes are managed, their impact on the environment and the potential for change. We are at a tipping point and, with ESG and corporate sustainability rightly at the top of corporate agendas, we stand alongside our peers in committing to reduce the environmental impact of litigation and arbitration while not compromising on our values or service. We look forward to working with our clients, counsel, law firms and other dispute resolution professionals and organisations to encourage and implement lasting change in the disputes practice and contribute to the fight against climate change.”

Senior Associate, Anna Brownrigg, and Partners Richard Levett and Lucinda Orr – the Enyo champions for these initiatives.
