Background

Anna is a dual-qualified solicitor in England and Wales and advocate in Russia, specialising in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration and litigation.

Anna has breadth of experience, having acted for sovereign States, large corporations and high-net worth individuals. Her experience includes representing clients in international arbitrations under a wide range of arbitral rules, including LCIA, ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID and SCC. She has advised clients in relation to a broad range of disputes, including the energy, construction, banking and mining sectors.

Anna also has experience of litigation before English courts, including proceedings before the Commercial Court and Court of Appeal. Anna, being originally Russian and having studied at universities in Russia, the USA and the UK, also has a particular interest in, and experience of, disputes arising from the CIS.

Anna joined Enyo Law in 2024 after practising international arbitration and litigation at leading US and UK law firms in London, as well as a magic circle firm in Paris. Anna is fluent in English, Russian, Armenian and Portuguese and have a working knowledge of Spanish and French.

Anna participates actively in the international arbitration community and is a Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Young Investment Treaty Forum, which was shortlisted by Global Arbitration Review (GAR) as the “Best Development of the Year” in 2021.

  • Represented a major British retail group in a High Court litigation against one of the largest investment banks in relation to a margin call made in respect of certain put and call options.
  • Represented a high net-worth individual in an ICC arbitration relating to a large real estate project in Eastern Europe.
  • Represented a Russian bank in an UNCITRAL Rules arbitration relating to securities repurchase agreement.
  • The Republic of Bulgaria in successfully defeating an investor-state claim concerning the banking sector brought by the State General Reserve Fund of the Sultanate of Oman (ICSID).
  • Represented the Kingdom of Thailand in an investment treaty arbitration relating to gold mining (UNCITRAL).
  • The Czech Republic in an investment treaty arbitration relating to the supply of blood plasma (UNCITRAL).
  • The Republic of Costa Rica in an investor-state claim brought by a Canadian investor concerning a gold mining project in northern Costa Rica (ICSID).
  • Represented the Russian Federation in an investment arbitration brought by Yukos Capital (UNCITRAL).
  • Represented a Canadian mining company in an investor-state claim against the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in relation to rare metals mining (UNCITRAL).
